Community Visits:
On Thursday, August 17, Rocky Run MS staff will be visiting the community at several locations. This is an opportunity to meet our team, pick up school supplies and community resources, drop off required vaccination information, and have any questions answered you might have. All are invited to stop by any of the locations.

- Student schedules will be available in SIS ParentVue and StudentVue in the morning of Aug 18.

To better provide for parking and to ensure enough time to navigate the building and meet staff, we encourage our Rocky Run families to arrive any time between 2 PM and 5 PM (no need to arrive at 2 PM) and walk/carpool, if possible.

Student Orientation
- Friday, August 19, 8:30-11 AM
- Doors will open at 8:30 AM and program begins at 9 AM
All 7th and 8th grade students are encouraged to attend. Students will walk daily schedule and meet their teachers briefly for each class period.

Student Schedules
Student schedules will be available in SIS StudentVue/ParentVue on the morning of August 18. Please see information below for SIS StudentVue/ParentVue account access and information.

Laptops
Laptops will be distributed through your students Health/PE class during the first two days of school unless your student has participated in Rising Rams.
Transportation Updates
Parents/guardians should review their Parent Vue account in the Student Information System (SIS) for updated bus route assignment information.
BOY Required Forms via FCPS weCare
Please update your child's required forms via WeCare or email hard copies to Ms. Tina Dempsey at cmdempsey@fcps. Please help us go paperless by updating the forms electronically.
Digital Resources Parent Consent Form
All families will need to submit the Digital Resources Consent Form prior to August 26 so that students will be able to access resources and activities needed for their classes. Students will not be able to access YouTube, among other tools, without parent consent.
Student Rights and Responsibilities Update - Personal Device Away for the Day:
An important update made to the Student Rights & Responsibilities document (SR&R) for the coming school year is the regulation to limit cell phone use during the school day for middle school students. Students will not be permitted to use their cell phones, earbuds, smart watches, and other similar devices during the instructional day from 7:30 AM to 2:15 PM. Phones must be silenced and kept away for the duration of the school day. Storage may be in a locker, backpack, pencil bag, etc., during the day.
Student expectations will be taught throughout the first week of school. Repeated failure to comply may result in required device pick up by parent/guardian, and potentially disciplinary consequences.
