Dear Parents,
It was great to see so many of you at our Open House yesterday! We are so excited to welcome our students back on Monday, August 22 for the first day of school. As a reminder, our school hours are 9:20-4:05.
Students are able to enter the building at 9:05. Students should walk into the building by themselves on the first day, except our Kindergarten students whose parents can accompany them to their classroom on the first day. Parents of Kindergarten students, please bring your child through door 1, the main entrance on the first day if you wish to accompany them. There will be plenty of staff members throughout the building to help students get to their classroom safely and securely.
If you are dropping your student off through Kiss and Ride, please stay in line and drop them off without parking your car. This keeps the Kiss and Ride line moving smoothly and quickly. Kiss and Ride students will come in door 10. If your student is arriving to school by car, you should come through the Kiss and Ride line. This is the safest way to drop students off. The side parking lot by the cafeteria will be blocked off to allow our walking students to arrive safely.
Our bus riders will come in door 1, the main entrance. Finally, our walkers will come in door 12 in the front of the building down towards our Haycock sign.
We want to thank the PTA for the delicious Italian themed lunch on Tuesday, popsicles for our students at Open House, and stocking the teacher's lounge with delicious snacks on Thursday. These things made Teacher Return Week all the more special for all of us.
This will be the last Friday Haycock Hello. Beginning on Monday, August 29, the Haycock Hello will come out on Mondays.
We hope to see you at Back to School Night on Thursday, August 25.
We can't wait to have our students back in the building on Monday!
With appreciation for your partnership,
Dr. Liz Beaty Ms. Heather Boyd Ms. Jody Delaney

Emergency Care Updates in SIS ParentVUE
Update Emergency Care Contacts in SIS
Fairfax County Public Schools is committed to ensuring that the climate in all FCPS facilities is safe and secure. In support of this goal, FCPS provides weCare@school (weCare), an emergency care information system, available to FCPS parents and guardians who have registered for their own Parent account.
weCare helps manage emergency medical information by enabling parents to go online to enter and update their children’s medical data at their convenience. Contact information provided automatically enrolls parents to receive eNotify communications from the district and their child’s school. eNotify is the communications tool for FCPS emergency, transportation, attendance, weather closings and delays, and essential outreach messages. Messages are sent via email and text messages. Occasional phone messages are sent as well.
Get more information about updating your emergency care information.
Congratulations on your retirement, Barbara Bosworth. Thank you for your dedication to the Haycock students and families!
