WSHS Spartan Weekly News - August 5, 2022

Hello Spartan Family,

We hope everyone has had a wonderful summer. It's hard to believe that the new school year is just a few weeks away. We are excited to welcome back students for the 2022 - 2023 school year.

We are also looking forward to a record breaking year with more than 2600 students and 250 faculty and staff. While our Administrative Team has been working much of the summer, completing our classroom staffing and other strategic level admin duties, School Counselors, teachers and other staff members return to school over the next week for orientations and mandatory training before our first day of school on August 22nd.

Below are some important dates and events that can give you and your students the information and tools they need for a successful start.

Be Wise and Immunize

All students are required to be immunized against certain communicable diseases to attend school in the state of Virginia. It is important for all students to receive the required immunizations.

Please talk with your family health care provider about whether or not your children are up to date on their vaccines before the new school year begins. Submit updated immunization records to your school as soon as possible.

More information on immunization requirements and the necessary documentation is available online.

Remember to request documentation of your child’s immunizations and bring that to the West Springfield HS Main Office during Spartan Open House, Thursday August 18th, 9am - 12pm.
