Dear Fairhill Families:

We are so excited and busy preparing for the return of our students on Monday, August 22nd.  Our staff is beginning to have collaborative meetings to plan routines and curriculum for the first few weeks of school.  As always, our first priority is ensuring that all children feel welcome and secure at Fairhill.

FCPS has been busy completing work on an updated HVAC system here at Fairhill. In addition to this work, we have had the final stage of new flooring finished in our classrooms. With these two big projects almost done our custodial crew has been working hard on a deep cleaning of the entire school to include stripping and waxing ALL the floors.

Throughout the summer, we’ve had two well attended school tours with one more scheduled for tomorrow at 9:30 am for those students NEW to Fairhill. We look forward to welcoming ALL families at our Open House on Friday, August 19th. This event will be an opportunity to drop off school supplies and meet your child's teacher. Please come at any time between the hours of 10 am-12 noon. There will not be any formal presentations at this event.  Please save the date of September 20th for our "Adults Only" Back to School Night where parents and guardians will learn about all things related to their child's classroom and learning for the school year.

This past Saturday our amazing PTA hosted a kindergarten play date. It was  wonderful to meet some of our future Tigers!  Thanks to everyone who came out to join us as we continue build our Tiger community.

We are eagerly awaiting to greet our new and returning Tigers!  Just a quick reminder that making changes in advance in bed times and wake times helps most children better prepare for learning.  Our school hours will be 9:20 am - 4:05 pm, with the doors opening at 9:10 am.  As a reminder, all students will be walking to class on their own from day one, as caregivers are not allowed to walk them to class. This helps us develop routines with our students, and it reduces the number of people in the building.

Please reach out if you should have any questions. We can't wait to welcome everyone back to school!

Take Care,

Tim Stanley                   Courtney Korb

Immunizations for 2022-2023 School Year

As we begin to look ahead to the 2022-23 school year, we encourage everyone to Be Wise, Immunize! Immunizations are required for public school entry and help keep children protected from many diseases. Many children missed their well check-ups and their recommended childhood immunizations during recent years of disruptions from COVID-19. It is critical to catch up now to keep children healthy and protect them from serious diseases.

We encourage you to check with your healthcare provider to make sure your child is up to date on required immunizations for the 2022-23 school year as soon as possible. If your child needs a vaccine to complete their records, you can make an appointment with your healthcare provider or visit the Fairfax County Health Department website for a schedule of child immunization clinics.

Remember to request documentation of your child’s immunizations and bring that to Fairhill as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact us at 703-208-8100.
