Here are a couple of reminders and announcements as we head into the first weekend of August.
Have You Purchased Your School Supplies Yet? If Not, Get Them Tax-Free This Weekend!
This weekend – Friday, August 5th through Sunday, August 7th – is Virginia Tax-Free Weekend! Many types of clothing and household goods, including most school supplies, can be purchased tax-free, in stores or online.

Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application Now Open!
For the last two years free breakfast and lunch were provided for all interested families. This year families must submit an application and be approved to be eligible for free and reduced-price meals.
Interested families are encouraged to submit the Free and Reduced-Price Meal application at least ten days prior to the first day of the 2022-23 school year (which is next week). The application is available now at https://www.fcps.edu/frm.
Students approved for Free and Reduced-Price Meals may qualify for additional benefits such as waived or reduced fees for instruments, uniforms, field trips, FCPS class fees, and Parktakes classes. Schools also benefit from funding opportunities based on Free and Reduced-Price Meal application numbers.
