Welcome to our New Forestville Staff
Dr. Soo Ahn Behavior Intervention Specialist
I am Dr. Soo Ahn, the new behavior intervention teacher for Forestville Elementary School and I am very excited to be part of the team. I am newly back to FCPS after almost ten years in academia as a professor at Iowa State University and Shenandoah University. Previously, I was a special education teacher at Burke Middle School for students with emotional disabilities, autism, and those with twice-exceptionalities. For fun, I like to collect hobbies as a hobby 😊.

Maryam Asadi Instructional Assistant
My name is Maryam Asadi. It's my great honor to be part of the Forestville elementary school staff this year. I've been working as an assistant teacher and then as a teacher at Persian Cultural Center Inc. from 2019. I've had this great opportunity to see how I could make a positive influence in kids' lives by learning, growing their self-esteem and by being in a safe and joyful environment. I love kids and I never get tired when I'm working with them. I'm also a mom of my beautiful daughter, she's attending first grade this year. My husband and I enjoy spending time with our little kid. I like cooking, crafting, drawing and most of all reading books. I am so happy and excited to start working at this great school.

Monica Svinicki Preschool Instructional Assistant
Hello, I am Monica Svinicki, the new Preschool IA-Autism class here at Forestville ES. I am excited and delighted to have the opportunity to get back to Forestville ES once again in a career I love and respect, teaching and working in a classroom. Last year I gained experience working in a enhanced Autism class, where I gained ABA training, and many more accomplishment at Forest Edge ES. I started my teaching career and worked for over seven years as a pre-school and kindergarten teacher at a Montessori school in Gaithersburg, Maryland. In the summer months, I ran a day camp for children ages two to seven.
A little about me, I grew up in a family of ten children in southern Michigan. My husband and I have two daughters, one is a freshman at Marymount University studying Business (Go Saints) and the eldest is a college student studying psychology at NOVA. Both practice competitive cheerleading, and just like a lot of families, we’ve got a lot going on every night of the week.
I look forward to meeting and working with you.
