Ms. Fallert and Ms. Baxter would like to extend an invitation to all rising 6th Grade students. We would like to invite our 6th Grade Students to the Island Creek Cafeteria on Thursday, August 11 from 11:30-12:30 for pizza and conversation. Our purpose is to get to know our 6th Graders better and hear thoughts from our 6th Graders about the wonderful things they've experienced at Island Creek and how we can improve to ensure that all students feel welcomed at school! As you may have seen from the superintendent's community message, FCPS is committed to ensuring that we will have a licensed educator in every classroom for the first day of school.
I want to assure you that at Island Creek we are almost fully staffed as we head into the school year. We have plans in place to address any remaining vacancies. These plans are student-centered and designed to meet the needs of all our students.
We look forward to welcoming your child to Island Creek! We will send a final update on or around August 15.

Families must submit an application and be approved to be eligible for free and reduced-price meals for the 2022-23 school year.
Interested families are encouraged to submit the Free and Reduced-Price Meal application ten days prior to the first day of the 2022-23 school year. The online application is available now.
Students approved for Free and Reduced-Price Meals may qualify for additional benefits such as waived or reduced fees for instruments, uniforms, field trips, FCPS class fees, and Parktakes classes. The Island Creek Elementary School PTA is seeking monetary, in-kind, or goods donations from local businesses to sponsor a new event! The Croc Rock-N-Run will take place during the school day on September 30, 2022, and is open to all students. Information about the event will be shared with students in the fall. If you own or work at a local business that would be interested in sponsoring this event, please email islandcreekptapresident@gmail.com.
