Luther Jackson Families,

It is with mixed emotions that I share with you that after 25 years of dedicated service to FCPS, I am leaving the division.  I have been selected to serve as the next principal of Stone Hill Middle School in Loudoun County.  This is an incredible professional and personal opportunity for me at this point in my career.  It goes without saying that my departure from Luther Jackson is truly bittersweet.  I love LJMS, and I will remain forever grateful to have had the opportunity to serve this awesome community over the past eight years.  The decision to leave LJMS was difficult for me, and while I am eager and excited to take my next step as a middle school principal, I know that I will miss everything about this school and the people who make it great.

Jackson Tigers thrive because of the many ways we collectively support them.  I am so proud of the growth our students make during their time with us and the dedication and commitment of our teachers and parents towards their overall success. We have worked in partnership to support our students and overcome challenges not to mention navigating a global pandemic!  And we have done this work together while keeping our students’ academic and social-emotional wellbeing as the focus.

I am most excited for Luther Jackson’s next chapter to begin with the selection of a new principal.  The Region 2 Office working with our wonderful Jackson community will take great care to select a principal who will maintain high academic standards and continue to foster the strong school-community involvement which makes our school a very special place for students and families.

With heartfelt appreciation and humility,

Rohini Tohan
