CES Summer Update 7.29.22

Message from Mrs. Kirkpatrick

The excitement continues to build as we plan in preparation for our opening.  While we are still seeking a couple of monitors for school support, we are fully staffed with teachers. Dates are set for many activities and we are looking forward to filling our building with our students and filling our classrooms, cafeteria, playground and hallways with laughter and learning.

I have to being this note with a tremendous note of gratitude to our Summer Quest and Bridge/SOAR team of teachers, support staff and our PTA for supporting our students in summer instructional and fun programs. I must also thank the Kent Gardens administration for providing us space while our building was closed to programs this summer. Kent Gardens was inundated with two additional summer programs on top of their own. If your child participated in our programs and you see Mrs. Jennings, please share your gratitude for her incredible organization, work and management of the program. It is not an easy undertaking to do this work, much less off site. She worked to ensure all supplies were delivered, classes were staffed and students had what they needed daily. Without her leadership and many hours behind the scene, this program would not have happened and I am incredibly grateful our students had this opportunity this summer. Thank you Mrs. Jennings!

NOTE DATE CHANGE- Due to scheduled facilities work, we will need to postpone the NEW Family coffee scheduled for next Tuesday morning on August 2nd. We are rescheduling for Tuesday, August 9th at 10am. Mrs. Thomas and I are excited to meet many new families and also provide a chance for you all to meet.

Our PTA board is hard at work and we are collaborating on brining our community back together again through many events while also working to bring back many opportunities for our students to engage and learn outside of the structured classroom instruction. If you have not yet thought of joining our PTA, please consider being part of this amazing group that is an incredible foundation to our school support. Join our PTA through their website.

The theme for this school year is "The Best is Yet to Come." As we are on the horizon of a new year, we are
