WSES Marquee

We are excited to share our new WSES marquee!

Willow Springs families,

We hope everyone is having a wonderful summer with family and friends. We are excited to see our new marquee shining brightly on Braddock Road! Make sure to drive by to see our latest updates, news, and information. Thank you again to our PTA, families, and community for your hard work in raising the money to purchase this beautiful addition to the entrance of our school.

We are thrilled that we are only weeks away from the first day of school. With the return of our children, families, and staff comes much life, laughter, and love. We are ready for our hallways and classrooms to be filled with positivity and learning!

We have a couple of summer events happening before the return of students. We look forward to welcoming our youngest foxes at our kindergarten popsicle event on Wednesday, August 17. We are excited to welcome all of our foxes back at our Willow Welcome on Friday, August 19. Please visit our WSES website for continuous announcements, highlights, and calendar updates.

As you may have seen from the superintendent's community message, FCPS is committed to ensuring that we have a licensed educator in every classroom for the first day of school. We want to assure you that we are almost fully staffed at Willow Springs as we head into the school year. Our teachers and staff are ready to kick off a fantastic year with our children!

We are eager to partner with our WSES family to make this year engaging and exciting! Please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Please have a safe remainder of the summer, and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

Sincerely,

Dylan Taylor, Principal

Lesley Hassen, Assistant Principal

FCPS Summer Resources

FCPS continues to updates the FCPS Summer Resources webpage throughout the summer months. This website is provided to help students and families have a fun, safe, and healthy summer.

FCPS Trust Policy: Providing a Safe and Welcoming Space This School Year and Beyond

FCPS is proud of its caring culture and strives to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for all students and families. The Fairfax County School Board’s recently approved Trust Policy solidifies that commitment. It aligns with Fairfax County’s Public Trust and Confidentiality Policy to ensure that FCPS students and families can access FCPS benefits and services without fear that information will be disclosed, directly or indirectly, to federal immigration officials. FCPS’ new Trust Policy webpage will be live soon, with the policy and other important information available in eight languages. Please keep an eye out for the link in an upcoming issue of FCPS This Week.

Free and Reduced-Price Meals

Free and reduced

Free and Reduced-Price Meal applications are now available on the FCPS website. Interested families are encouraged to submit the application at least ten days before the first day of school. A new application must be submitted every school year.

In addition to qualifying for free or reduced-price school meals, approved students may qualify for benefits such as waived or reduced fees for instruments, uniforms, field trips, FCPS class fees, and Parktakes classes. Schools also benefit from funding opportunities based on Free and Reduced-Price Meal application numbers.

Paper copies of the application are available in the main office. If you have questions or need assistance with the Free and Reduced-Price Meals application, please contact our main office at 703-679-6000. We are happy to help.

Fall School Supply Sale

WSES School Supplies

Hey parents! No matter how you’re enjoying your summer, why not mark “school supply shopping” off your list? Product shortages and price increases are going to be major factors this back-to-school season (have you noticed most stores don’t have their school supplies out yet?).

Ordering your supplies from Campus Survival Kits means you don’t have to run around town searching for that ONE item, and your students’ teachers will get all of their supplies delivered directly to them for easy classroom storage. Campus Survival Kits are all teacher approved and curated with our teachers. They are our PTA partner this upcoming school year.
