Kindergarten Screener for 2022-2023
Our kindergarten teachers will once again be completing a quick summer screener in order to collect some baseline information on our newest Eagles. This information will be used to help place our students, as well as for teacher instructional planning, in order to ensure we are best meeting all student needs. These are not formal assessments and there is no “grade” or “score.” There is no preparation or studying needed. We use this information to help with initial class placements, and there isn’t any type of score to share with families. All students living in Floris boundaries are welcome in Kindergarten as long as they meet the Virginia date of age 5 by September 30, 2022.
Please use this Sign-Up Genius link to register your child for a 15 minute screening with a kindergarten teacher. The teacher screening your child may not be your child’s assigned teacher in the fall. The teachers work together to screen all students.
If your child is in Bridge2K, they will be screened during that time. If you are unable to come to the screening on August 9, your child will be screened at the beginning of the school year.
Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled time at Door 1. Parents are welcome to wait outside Door 1 or in the front lobby. If you cannot make the appointment please cancel your time on the Sign-Up Genius system.
