Your child's teacher and a KPES staff buddy will come to your home for a brief 3-5 minute doorstep visit. This year's welcome walk will be held on Monday, August 15th between 4pm-7pm. To participate you will need to be home during this time frame. If you are not going to be home at this date/time frame OR would prefer to meet the teacher virtually, please indicate that in this survey and you child's teacher will contact you to schedule a virtual meet and greet.
Please complete the survey to indicate your preference by August 8, 2022 at 1pm. To support the management and preplanning necessary for this event, please note that if no survey is submitted for a student, the virtual option will be assumed and scheduled.

Kings Park ES Registration
If your child will be attending Kings Park Elementary for the 2022-2023 school year and you have not completed any registration paperwork or your child will not be attending Kings Park Elementary in the fall, please contact Nancy Sawicki, 703-426-7000 or nesawicki@fcps.edu, as soon as you are able. Doing so early will help ensure that Kings Park ES is allocated the required staffing from FCPS for a successful start to the 22-23 school year.
FCPS Summer Meal Service
Summer meal kits will be offered on Tuesdays at several locations through August 9. Meal kits contain seven days of breakfast and lunch items packed in bulk. All meals are available at no-cost to FCPS students and children 18 years of age and under. Pick up locations and times have recently been updated. Visit our Meals for Students website for more details.
Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications Available Later This Summer
For the past two years, the federal government has provided no-cost meals to all public school students without the need to complete the annual Free and Reduced-Price Meal application. The extension of the no-cost meals benefit to all students is expected to expire at the end of this school year, meaning families must submit an application and be approved to be eligible for free and reduced-price meals for the 2022-23 school year. Learn more about the Free and Reduced-Price Meal program online.
Sincerely,
Dotty Lin
