Dear families,

Each and every one of us at Clearview thank you from the bottom of our collective heart for all you do!  Most of all, we are full of gratitude for each and every day that you send us your precious children. As we reflect on the 2021-22 school year, we can say that this school year has been a phenomenal one as we resumed in-person learning for each and every Yellow Jacket!

We hope that you have a fun and relaxing summer and that you find the time to connect with family and friends.  Take full advantage of the long summer days and remember to read, read, read!

Free/Reduced Meals

Families must submit an application and be approved to be eligible for free and reduced price meals for SY 22-23. For the past two years, the federal government has provided no-cost meals to all public school students without the need to complete the annual Free and Reduced-Price Meal application. However, the extension of the no-cost meals benefit to all students is expected to expire at the end of this school year.

We encourage you to submit the Free and Reduced-Price Meal application prior to the first day of the 22-23 school year. The online application will be available later this summer. Watch your email and our website for more information. Learn more about the Free and Reduced-Price Meal program online.

No-cost summer meals will be served at all FCPS summer school locations this year. Please visit the FCPS website for updated information during the summer.

If you have questions about the Free and Reduced-Price Meals program, the additional benefits your child may receive, or no-cost summer meals, please contact the main office at 703-708-6000. We are happy to help.

Families will also receive an official SOL score report letter with more details by the end of July.

Additional information about SOL assessments is available online. You can also learn more about SIS ParentVUE and how to activate your account.

Mental Wellness Consultations

This summer, the FCPS Office of Intervention and Prevention Services will offer virtual Mental Wellness Consultations from June 21, 2022 through August 5, 2022.  Parents and students will have an opportunity to schedule an individual 45-minute consultation with a school psychologist or school social worker by phone or videoconference.

This consultation provides an opportunity for parents to receive guidance on how to support their child’s social, emotional, behavioral, and academic success.  Information about community resources will also be provided.

All parents and secondary students are encouraged to take advantage of this service by clicking here to request a consultation. You may also leave us a message at 703-503-2520.

FCPS' Family Return to School Survey

FCPS is interested in hearing from parents/caregivers about how the 2021-22 school year has gone for students. You have an opportunity to provide your feedback on our Family Return to School Survey. Please check your email and text messages for the link. The deadline has been extended to Friday, June 17, at 8 p.m.

The survey is available in English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Arabic, Spanish, Korean, and Farsi, and takes about 15 minutes to complete. We encourage all FCPS parents/caregivers to participate and share their experiences whether positive or negative. The information families provide will be used, along with other data, to support FCPS’ efforts to make improvements that support schools, students, and staff, and for ESSER accountability reporting.

June 10 Last Day of School- 6th Grade Celebration and 2 hour Early Release for students!

PTA

The 6th grade promotion ceremony was held last night at Herndon MS and the celebration took place today at Clearview! Leanne and Co. generously provided pizza for the event, and Bach to Rock provided the music, so a huge thanks to them for making the celebration a real party!

This year was truly an unforgettable one. Thank you to all the volunteers, the super coordinators, the planners and the dreamers. There were new ideas and new bridges crossed; we said goodbye to some traditions and created some new ones. Special thanks to Laura Manduzio, for making 10 years of magic with the 5K/Fun Run. That is a Clearview event that simply cannot be missed. There are so many things that the members of the PTA are passionate about doing; please consider helping out next year. There are even still a couple spots open on the Board for next year. Contact Brian Kelley at bhkelley@gmail.com  for more information. It's been a pleasure being the PTA President this year, and I look forward to helping out next year in other ways. Please join us! Have a great summer! -Alecia Nault
