CES Weekly Update 6.6.22 - Last Week!!!

house fest

Message from CES Administrators

It has been great to see all the smiles as we have ended this school year in a more traditional manner with culminating learning activities and our end of the year parties. This past week we celebrated House Fest (some photos above), welcoming GMU's The Edge program to facilitate team building activities for our students across their houses. While students were not on the field, they enjoyed indoor activities in their houses. It was a fun filled week and we look forward to rounding out the year with a great closing week.

This year has been another unique year for everyone. Thank you for your support, communication and patience as we have navigated to support all of our students throughout this year. It truly is hard to believe this year is coming to a close.

Thank you to our wonderful PTA board, those that chaired our PTA events and volunteers that helped make it all happen.

Sincerely,

Stacy Kirkpatrick, Principal
Farris Thomas, Assistant Principal

Medication Reminder

All medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time (1:35 PM) on the last day of school June 10, 2022. Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian.  Medication cannot be sent home with your student.

Free & Reduced Priced Meals Application

For the past two years, the federal government has provided no-cost meals to all public school students without the need to complete the annual Free and Reduced-Price Meal application. The extension of the no-cost meals benefit to all students is expected to expire at the end of this school year, meaning families must submit an application and be approved to be eligible for free and reduced price meals for the 2022-23 school year.

Eligible families are encouraged to submit the Free and Reduced-Price Meal application before the first day of the 2022-23 school year. The online application will be available later this summer and accessible via the FCPS homepage.

Students approved for Free and Reduced-Price Meals may qualify for additional benefits such as waived or reduced fees for instruments, uniforms, field trips, FCPS class fees, and Parktakes classes.

No-cost summer meals will be served at all FCPS summer school locations this year. Please visit our website for updated information during the summer.
