MVHS Summer Office Hours

Effective June 14, 2022, office hours will be 9:00am-1:00pm.  Please email Veronda Grimes at vlgrimes@fcps.edu if you would like to schedule an appointment or call the front desk at 703-619-3100.

Fourth Quarter Grades, Course Requests and Report Cards

Fourth quarter and final grades will be available to parents in Parent Vue and will be mailed home on Friday, June 17, 2022.

Before taking that much needed break and summer vacation, parents/guardians, you are strongly encouraged to discuss all course requests (primary and alternative electives) with your child(ren).  The deadline to request a change in courses or electives is Friday, June 10th

We encourage parents/guardians to review your student’s course requests in ParentVUE. Click “Course Requests” on the Navigation toolbar to access this information.  A final copy of course requests will be included in the fourth quarter report card mailing.  A copy was also sent home with your child’s third quarter report card.

Please note that these are course requests, this is not a final schedule; staffing or potential schedule conflicts may result in an alternative class being selected.  Please reach out to your child’s school counselor if there are any questions about courses entered or if you would like to make a change. After June 10th, requests will only be accepted to resolve scheduling conflicts or resolve credit issues such as graduation requirements or to increase rigor by taking a more challenging course.

The August and September dates are the only dates available.  Appointment spaces will fill up quickly; please get senior pictures taken on the earliest date possible.

Important note: Students do not have to purchase pictures.  We are encouraging all rising seniors to schedule an appointment and select the free yearbook package, even if they do not want to purchase pictures.  This will ensure that all senior pictures are included in the yearbook.

Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications/Summer Meals

Families must submit an application and be approved to be eligible for free and reduced price meals for SY 22-23. For the past two years, the federal government has provided no-cost meals to all public school students without the need to complete the annual Free and Reduced-Price Meal application. However, the extension of the no-cost meals benefit to all students is expected to expire at the end of this school year.

We encourage you to submit the Free and Reduced-Price Meal application prior to the first day of the 22-23 school year. The online application will be available later this summer. Watch your email and our website for more information. Learn more about the Free and Reduced-Price Meal program online.

No-cost summer meals will be served at all FCPS summer school locations this year. Please visit the FCPS website for updated information during the summer.

If you have questions about the Free and Reduced-Price Meals program, the additional benefits your child may receive, or no-cost summer meals, please contact the school.  We are happy to help.
