The Clermont Chorus dazzled students with a performance during morning arrival today. They have worked hard all year, and it shows. Bravo!

Medication Pick Up

A graphic of medication bottles

The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school, Friday, June 10, 2022.  Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. However, with parent or guardian permission, a high school student may transport over-the-counter medications to and from the school health room. Your cooperation will ensure that we can safely give your student his or her medication. If you have any questions, please contact your school health room aide, Tina Buckingham at 703-921-2410.

Lost Chargers

At the end of the school year all students will be responsible for returning their laptop and charger. When students lose an FCPS provided charger they are responsible for replacing them.

Replacement fee for lost computer equipment:

  • Kindergarten chargers: $26.00
  • Grades 1 - 6 Chargers: $44.39

Replacement fees can be paid either through:

  • MySchoolBucks - https://www.myschoolbucks.com/
  • Check - Bring in a check to Clermont’s Main Office made payable to “Clermont Elementary School”.  Write the Student ID# on the Memo line.

Once a student pays the replacement fee, we will provide them a new charger. Please do not purchase a replacement charger through outside stores or vendors.

Counselor's Corner

Our classroom lessons during May were focused on the following topics:

Kindergarten - Learning about honesty

1st grade - Learning the meaning of careers and connecting characteristics needed for careers. Students enjoyed exploring the “Career Town” section of the Virginia View site. Check it out by clicking here.

2nd grade - Learning the meaning of career, job candidate, and what it means to be professional. Understanding positive character traits needed to be a good job candidate.

3rd grade - Strategies for stopping gossip and rumors

4th grade - Discovering more about ourselves and each other, as related to multiple intelligences.

6th grade - Middle School Transition Lesson - Exploring facts and myths about: the cafeteria, elective classes, lockers, the schedule and the building. We look forward to a Q and A session on the 7th with a counselor from Twain Middle School.

A smiling heart says, "Your Counselor Cares About You!"

We have had a wonderful time teaching all of our students this year, and we  hope you have a wonderful, fun-filled summer! We will be counting down the days until we’re back!

Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications Due This Summer

For the past two years, the federal government has provided no-cost meals to all public school students without the need to complete the annual Free and Reduced-Price Meal application. The extension of the no-cost meals benefit to all students is expected to expire at the end of this school year, meaning families must submit an application and be approved to be eligible for free and reduced price meals for the 2022-23 school year.

Interested families are encouraged to submit the Free and Reduced-Price Meal application before the first day of the 22-23 school year. The online application will be available later this summer and accessible via the FCPS homepage.

Students approved for Free and Reduced-Price Meals may qualify for additional benefits such as waived or reduced fees for instruments, uniforms, field trips, FCPS class fees, and Parktakes classes.

Summer Meal Service

No-cost summer meals will be served at all FCPS summer school locations this year. Please visit our website for updated information during the summer.
