Volunteers Needed from ALL Grades - 2022 All Night Graduation Party

The Class of 2022 All Night Graduation (ANG) Party is coming up on June 1-2 (10:30 PM - 5:00 AM) at the high school.  This party had been a tradition at Herndon High School for over 20 years prior to the pandemic - and is back for the first time since 2019!

ANG is an all night event sponsored by the PTSA to provide a fun-filled evening of games, food, entertainment and prizes in a well-chaperoned, drug and alcohol-free environment to help keep our seniors safe on graduation night.

Many volunteers are needed to make this a fun event! All grade level parents are encouraged to volunteer to support the senior families and see what the All Night Graduation Party is all about!  Due to the pandemic, knowledge about the event has been diminished so it would be really helpful for the underclass parents to attend as it will facilitate your planning efforts in future years.

Please sign up here if you are able to assist with any available spots:

Thank you all so much! Your support is GREATLY appreciated!

From the Library

The end of the school year means that it’s time to gather up any outstanding library books. Your students can see if they have outstanding library obligations by logging into Destiny. There are no fines for overdue books. Fees for lost or damaged books can be paid through MySchoolBucks. If you have questions about your student’s account, you can reach us at hhs_library@fcps.edu.

Students who will be returning to Herndon HS in the fall and whose library accounts are clear may check out books to enjoy over the summer. Items checked out for the summer should be returned by Friday, August 26—the week that students return to school.

You know it’s almost summer when SYNC Audiobooks for Teens returns with free audiobook downloads! Their free season has started, and runs through mid-August. Two titles are available each week, and change every Thursday. Once you’ve downloaded a title, it’s yours to keep forever. Find all of the details here.

Herndon Fortnightly Library is seeking teen volunteers to assist with summer programming. From their website: “Are you between the ages of 12-18 & attending 7th-12th grade in the fall? Do you love books and helping others? Are you interested in volunteering for the library over the summer?  Come to summer volunteer orientation to learn all about the process and sign up for time slots. Available opportunities may include teen reading buddies, craft preparation, helping with summer programs and more.” Register for the June 13 Teen Volunteer Orientation here.
