Dear Haycock Families,
We had a wonderful Field Day today! The weather cooperated and fun was had by all. A big think you to all the parent volunteers who helped out. Finally, we owe deep gratitude to Ms. Hecht and Ms. Robinson for all the planning and preparations that went into a making today a successful field day.
It is hard to believe we only have a week left of school! We ask that you support your students in the following ways as we begin our end of year procedures:
- Return all school library books
- Return student laptop and charger (laptops will stay at school next week and will not go home at the end of each day)
Congratulations to Kelli Arditti, one of our sixth grade teachers. She won the Special Education PTA Award for General Education teacher. We are so proud of Ms. Arditti.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the delicious Panera lunch and gift cards from the PTA for Principal Appreciation Week. We are very grateful for the opportunity to serve the Haycock community.
With appreciation for your partnership,
Dr. Liz Beaty, Principal embeaty@fcps.edu

Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications due this Summer
For the past two years, the federal government has provided no-cost meals to all public school students without the need to complete the annual Free and Reduced-Price Meal application. The extension of the no-cost meals benefit to all students is expected to expire at the end of this school year, meaning families must submit an application and be approved to be eligible for free and reduced price meals for the 2022-23 school year.
Eligible families are encouraged to submit the Free and Reduced-Price Meal application before the first day of the 2022-23 school year. The online application will be available later this summer and accessible via the FCPS homepage.
Students approved for Free and Reduced-Price Meals may qualify for additional benefits such as waived or reduced fees for instruments, uniforms, field trips, FCPS class fees, and Parktakes classes.
Family Return to School Survey
FCPS is interested in hearing about how the 2021-22 school year has gone for students. You have an opportunity to provide your feedback on our Family Return to School Survey which you should have received via email.
The survey is being administered by the FCPS Office of Research and Strategic Improvement, which provides objective research and data-based information back to the school division’s leadership. The survey is part of the office’s continuing evaluation of the pandemic’s impact on our school division.
We encourage all Haycock parents/caregivers to respond to the survey and share their experiences whether positive or negative. The information you and other families provide will be used, along with other data, to inform FCPS leadership about the return to five days a week of in-person instruction, and support FCPS’ efforts to make improvements that support schools, students, and staff. It will also be included in ESSER III reporting.
