Last Thursday, we held our first in-person PTA Talent Show since pre-Covid. Our current PTA President, Megan Laboy, wanted to blend the best of in-person with the best part of virtual, so a large screen was used to present talents at home, and then so many of our students proudly stood up on stage and shared their talents in-person. I am always impressed with the confidence our students demonstrate, as well as the encouragement they receive from each other. Ms. Kiri Cooper, our music teacher, kicked off the PTA Talent Show with beautiful singing by our chorus. It was truly a night to remember! Thank you to all who helped make it happen and came out to support our students.
This Friday, June 3rd our current and former Beech Tree families are encouraged to celebrate with all of us during our 2022 Spring Fling on Friday, June 3rd at 6:30pm on the blacktop out back. Our PTA will have a DJ out in the fresh air for us to enjoy! Should it rain, it will be moved into the gym, so come ready to dance with us!
I’d like to remind you that Ms. Do, our registrar, is retiring after 28 years of service, and while she wanted to walk away quietly, we want to be sure and recognize and honor her service to our community:
1) Current and past Beech Tree students, staff, and parents, are invited to shower Ms. Do with love and appreciation throughout the last week of school, Monday, June 6th through Friday, June 10th. She loves hand-written, student-created cards and gardening. If you wish to send flowers, she is an avid gardener, so flowering plants she can add to her garden would be very special for her.
2) Our current staff will have a private, celebratory breakfast on Monday, June 13th.
3) Our office staff will hold a private retreat on Tuesday, June 11th to celebrate Ms. Do’s birthday and retirement.
Additionally, I would like to remind you of my plans for our end of year “Moving Up Ceremony” for Kindergarteners and our “Moving On Ceremony” for 5th graders. On Wednesday, June 8th Kinder and 5th grade families will receive the following in their Wednesday Folders:
1) An invitation to the ceremony
2) 6 Guest Name Tags, specific to each student, which are your TICKETS and permission into the ceremony
Both ceremonies will be held in the gym and accessed through Door #9, by the SACC entrance/library. There will be a staff member stationed at that entrance to check tickets, which are limited to the 6 guests per Kinder OR 5th grade student.
*Please remember to bring your assigned name tag that identifies you as a an approved guest.
- The Kindergarten “Moving Up Ceremony” will be held at 10am.
- The 5th grade “Moving On Ceremony” will be held at 11:45am.
Guests are asked to exit the ceremony through the same door they entered from, which is Door #9, by the SACC entrance/library. If you plan to take your student with you after the ceremony, please exit the building and come to Door #1 to ask for your student to be brought to you. Please understand that this is to keep track of all of our students after the ceremony in a safe and orderly manner. Thank you.

Procedimientos de salud y seguridad:
Visitantes en el edificio
Los visitantes de Beech Tree pueden ingresar solo con cita previa, con acceso limitado al edificio. Todos deben tener una identificación, como una licencia de conducir o un pasaporte, y se les pedirá que respondan un cuestionario de evaluación de la salud. Los padres pueden dejar y recoger materiales, según sea necesario, tocando el timbre y comunicándose con el personal de la oficina. El personal de la oficina le llevará los materiales a la puerta o los recibirá en la puerta.
Uso de la fuente de agua
Los estudiantes deben traer su propia botella de agua para usar durante el día. El personal de la escuela supervisará el llenado de las botellas de agua, según sea necesario. Las fuentes de agua no deben usarse como de costumbre. Las fuentes de agua se pueden usar para rellenar botellas de agua cuando sea práctico, pero los estudiantes y el personal no deben beber directamente de ninguna fuente de agua o grifo, lo que podría contribuir a la transmisión de enfermedades; en su lugar, se deben usar botellas de agua individuales.
Salas de cuidados
- La sala de atención predeterminada es un lugar designado y debe estar separada de la sala de salud. Puede ser necesario que las escuelas identifiquen una segunda sala de cuidado debido al requisito de distanciamiento físico y capacidad de la sala.
- Se debe asignar un miembro del personal designado para supervisar a los estudiantes mientras se encuentran en la sala de atención predeterminada en caso de que surja la necesidad. El miembro del personal recibirá una bata o bata de laboratorio, guantes y un protector facial, según corresponda. El personal deberá estar disponible en varios momentos durante el día para supervisar a cualquier estudiante que presente síntomas de COVID-19 mientras espera que el padre o tutor lo recoja.
*En Beech Tree, las salas de atención designadas, para no afectar la instrucción de los estudiantes, son la sala de conferencias del director y la oficina del director. El personal designado, para no afectar la instrucción de los estudiantes, es la subdirectora, Maureen López, y la directora, Karim Daugherty.
