Churchill Chatter - Issue 20, May 27, 2022
Dear Churchill Road Families,
It's been another busy week at Churchill Road. This week, all students in grades 3-6 completed their SOL testing. We are so proud of all the hard work and effort our students and teachers put forth to be prepared and perform well. As a reminder, we follow FCPS protocols for score reporting. All scores will be available in ParentVUE in mid-July. If you do not have ParentVue access, please contact the main office.
There are still no words to share exactly how we are feeling in light of the events that took place in Texas this week. Our mental health team has been on site with resources to provide individual and class supports as needed.
If you have any specific questions or needs, please feel free to contact a member of our mental health team.

Helping Hungry Kids a Success
 |
Tuesday was a great day - our 6th grade Bobcats made 191 complete meal bags. These will be distributed to students in our area who face food insecurity every weekend when they can’t access free and reduced lunch and breakfast. We’re grateful to the MANY generous Churchill Road families who donated hundreds of shelf stable food items to make this possible.
We did have extras of some items; all of those will also go to Helping Hungry Kids, which is the organization we partnered with for this community service project.
Many many thanks to the terrific team of parents who helped pull this off, in particular, Community Services subcommittee chair Lelia Sloane.
Big shout outs also to: Racquel Collins-Milinkovich, Melissa Witt, Marci Love Thomas, Kelley Davenport, Anna McNamara, Mie Tajima, Saba Ansari, Lindsey and Jeremey Stover. Everyone hauled boxes of food down to the gazebo and helped coordinate the chaos—all while having some fun! We’re so grateful for our incredible community.

Library Book Return
We’re wrapping things up in the library, but Ms. Scott needs help locating overdue and missing library books. All school library books were due on Friday, May 27th. Please take a moment to check under beds, behind sofas, and in cars—everywhere library books can hide! This will help us get the library ready for all our readers next school year. Thank you.
