Majors achieve and thrive together with purpose and pride!
Family and Friends of our RISING SENIORS!
Students in the Class of 2023 are working diligently to end their junior year strong, and I wanted to take a moment to give you a quick what's up with the Class.
- Despite the rainy weather, Prom 2022 was a success at The Torpedo Factory on May 6th, and we've been collecting feedback from our students to pass on to next year's junior class. Thank you to everyone who helped us sell tickets and who joined us at The Torpedo Factory! We needed you, and we appreciate you very much!
- We are working on t-shirt designs for senior year. Senior t-shirts will be ordered for all seniors at the beginning of next year, and the cost is covered by the class, in part by senior dues.
- Legacy, our new school photographer https://seniors.legacystudios.com/, will be in the building to take senior portraits on May 26th and May 27th. You can use the link below to sign up for a session:
https://seniors.legacystudios.com/mount-vernon-hs-alexandria-va/
Additional dates will be added; watch for future announcements. Questions about senior pictures can be directed to Kellie Williams, kawilliams4@fcps.edu.
- I would like to hold a Parent Council meeting on May 26th at 7:30 (following the PTSA meeting). It's time for us to start thinking about fundraising and planning for next year's SeniorFest/All Night Grad Party. Our primary fundraiser for this event is the Spring, 2023 Mulch Sale.
In the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out to me with questions or ideas. Have a wonderful weekend,
Karen Boyd, Class of 2023 Administrator

The FCPS Senior Survey
The FCPS Senior Survey occurs every year. The data collected from this class will be used to build scattergrams in Naviance and will provide valuable information for our school division as we work to support each student’s academic and career plan.
It is important for all seniors to complete this survey and if you are planning to attend college, this is the way you will indicate where you want your school to send your final transcript! If you have not yet completed the Senior Survey, please contact your school counselor.
