Dear Shrevewood Families,
We've had a great week of learning at Shrevewood. Thank you to all the volunteers, families and students who attended BINGO night last Friday. It was a blast and a reminder of just how wonderful our community and students are.
We are wrapping up SOL testing and will have retakes happening next week. Please see details below.
The end of the school year is coming in just three short weeks. We have so many fun activities planned for our students and we look forward to having parent volunteers in the building to help us close out the year.

Let's show some school spirit next week! Please see the image below for details about our "Fun in the Sun" spirit week that will start on Monday, 5/23 and last through Friday, 5/27.
All school library books are due on Friday, May 27th. Please take a look in your child's backpack and around the house for any Shrevewood Library books. This will help us get the library ready for all our readers next school year.

The SWES Environmental Club has been focusing on energy conservation for our school, and we are almost at our Bronze flag for FCPS Get2Green!
Next week (5/23-5/27) we will be doing No Power Half Hour – which is when you set aside time each day to turn off lights and/or find ways to not use electricity.

Please have your 6th graders support the 6th grade carwash by participating in washing cars on Sunday.
All families, community and staff are invited to get their car squeaky clean for summer!
The cost is $10 per car on Sunday May 22nd from 12-2 p.m. at Shrevewood Elementary School in the Kiss and Ride line.

ATTENTION ALL STRINGS FAMILIES!
Reminder: SPRING CONCERT Thursday, May 26th
Participation in the concert is expected for ALL Strings Students!
5:30 PM ARRIVAL
*Students will report to the stage to unpack and tune*
6:00 PM PERFORMANCE
Performance Location: Gym
Students should wear white on top, black on bottom.
*ALL STUDENTS WILL NEED TO BRING IN INSTRUMENTS ON TUESDAY, MAY 24TH FOR AN IN SCHOOL REHEARSAL*

 We have completed all SOL testing and make ups. Next week students will retake the SOL if eligible. Please reach out to Susie Lilburn, Assistant Principal, if you have questions about SOL Retakes. All parents have been contacted if your child was eligible for a SOL retake.
Cafeteria Volunteers:
Volunteers would:
- Monitor cafeteria during different time slots (ranging from 10:50- 2:15)
- Help custodians clean tables
- Monitor students and prompt them to line up
- Have fun!!

As a reminder, school begins at 9:20 am and ends at 4:05 pm. Please notify us if your child will be absent or late to school. We will have an automated “call-out” at approximately 11 a.m. for students who were absent without prior notification. If you receive that call, please contact our office the next day.
