Highlights from our Spring Resource Fair!

THANK YOU!
Garfield Eagles and their families helped us make our Spring Resource Fair a success. The Kona Ice truck kept us cool while we registered students for summer programs like RecPac and SOAR. Students made math and literacy enrichment kits to take home and use during summer break.
Drew Blue Shoes kept us on our toes as our Eagles learned about creativity, communication, and cooperation. They were entertained by magical inventions keeping them cheering and laughing all evening long.
Bruno's Bounce House did not disappoint with fun inflatable games and a bubble machine that was enjoyed by future Garfield Eagles!
Parents received information about Girls Scouts, Boys Scouts, Garfield PTA, Library resources, Sports programs, Movie events, and so much more! We love connecting with our families and community.
We can't wait for next year!
ENCANTO! - Movie night
|
We don't talk about Bruno!
A BIG thank you to our wonderful PTA for organizing movie night for our Garfield Eagles. We enjoyed delicious popcorn and pizza while singing along to all the Encanto hits!

Register for the 2022-2023 School year!
REGISTER NEW STUDENTS NOW!
Virginia law requires that all children who will reach their 5th birthday on or before September 30, 2022, must be enrolled in kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year, unless the parent or guardian notifies the school in writing that they do not wish the child to attend school until the following year.
If you have a child eligible to begin Kindergarten at Garfield Elementary School, and you have not registered them yet, please contact Sarah Rothman by phone 703-923-2900 or email sgrothman1@fcps.edu
Please spread the word to your neighbors who don’t already have a child at Garfield Elementary. Have neighbors with rising kindergarteners complete the online intake form or call the front office to get a registration packet.
**If your child currently attends Garfield Elementary School, you do not need to re-register for the next school year.
Principal's Corner
Dear Garfield Eagles,
This notification was sent via E-Notify earlier today.
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is sharing this notification with staff and families for awareness only.
This letter is to inform you that as of this time, four COVID-19 positive case have been reported today at Garfield Elementary.
FCPS has directed all COVID-19 positive cases to complete their isolation period before returning to school, and our school remains open to other students and staff at this time.
As long as any other students and staff remain symptom-free, they may continue to come to school or work and no further action is required.
If students or staff develop COVID-like illness they should stay home. COVID-19 diagnostic testing for symptomatic students and staff is available at the Fairfax County Health Department (FCHD) or other community locations. For information regarding isolation and quarantine, please visit the FCHD website for guidance.
We all play a part in stopping the spread of COVID-19. Based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), COVID-19 vaccinations are effective at protecting people from getting seriously ill due to COVID-19. Visit https://www.vaccines.gov to find locations to receive a vaccination. Additional recommendations to prevent COVID-19 are provided here.
For more information on COVID-19 Supports and Resources, please visit the VDH website.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we work through the COVID-19 pandemic together.
