Dear Families,
Another exciting week has come to a close at Clearview! Students are continuing to demonstrate a love for learning even with only 3 weeks left of school! As the weather gets warmer, the air conditioning is keeping classrooms nice and cool. Please consider sending your child with a light sweater or sweatshirt each day to wear, as needed.
A special thank you to families that came out to support our 10th annual 5K and 1M Fun Run! Thanks to each of you, the Clearview PTA raised over $1,500. Congratulations to all of our runners for exercising for a great cause- Clearview ES! We are grateful to everyone who volunteered their time and for our fabulous PE team for a fabulous event!
Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or compliments you may have. Please congratulate Mrs. Becker on receiving a FCPS cares award. If you have seen a Clearview staff member going above and beyond, fill out an FCPS Cares here.
Have a WONDERFUL weekend!

COVID-19 Updates
As you know, COVID-19 cases have been increasing in Fairfax County and in schools. Here at Clearview, we have seen an increase in cases and continue to encourage everyone to take the steps they feel necessary to stay safe and healthy.
We have been transparent about how the pandemic is impacting Clearview and our students all year. We will continue to share daily COVID-19 notifications whenever there is a confirmed positive case in our school. This information is provided to make our school community aware of the current situation and be able to make informed decisions about how to protect themselves.
We appreciate the patience, support, and understanding you have shown throughout this school year as we adjust our response to the pandemic. Together, we have kept our students participating in learning and activities. We look forward to celebrating the end of the school year with everyone.
May Is Mental Health Acceptance Month
Good mental health is essential to a child’s healthy development. “The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a serious toll on the mental health of children in Virginia as young people continue to face physical isolation, ongoing uncertainty, fear, and grief. Even before the pandemic, mental health challenges facing children were of great concern, and COVID-19 has only exacerbated them.” Read more in this news release from the Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics
Over one in five children and adolescents in the U.S. is diagnosed with a mental health condition. Only half of children and youth with behavioral health issues receive treatment.Research has shown early identification and appropriate treatment of mental health disorders among youth provides them better opportunities to lead full and productive lives.

Approval of Trust Policy
The School Board voted to adopt the Trust Policy on April 28. The policy confirms the Board’s commitment to providing a safe and welcoming space for all students and their families by aligning FCPS with Fairfax County’s Public Trust and Confidentiality Policy. This alignment ensures that FCPS students and families can access the school division’s benefits and services without fear that information will be disclosed, directly or indirectly, to federal immigration officials.
FCPS' Family Return to School Survey
Is Coming Soon
Now that FCPS has transitioned back to a more typical school experience, the school division is interested in hearing from parents/caregivers about how the school year has gone for their students. You will have an opportunity to provide your feedback on our Family Return to School Survey which will open Tuesday, May 31, and close Friday, June 10.
The survey is being administered by the FCPS Office of Research and Strategic Improvement, which provides objective research and data-based information back to the school division’s leadership. The survey is part of the office’s continuing evaluation of the pandemic’s impact on our school division. We encourage all FCPS parents/caregivers to respond to the survey and share their experiences whether positive or negative. The information you and other families provide will be used, along with other data, to inform FCPS leadership about the return to five days a week of in-person instruction, and support FCPS’ efforts to make improvements that support schools, students, and staff. It will also be included in ESSER III reporting.
