Action Item -

Renovation Menu

The Cooper kitchen will be renovated this summer, in order to complete the work in time for the new school year, the kitchen will close on Wednesday, May 25th and we will be serving cold meals.

The last day for hot meals will be Tuesday, May 24th.

Because lunches will be ordered from a central kitchen, it is helpful to know how many meals to plan for.

Please complete this one question form based on how your student will have lunch for a majority of the remainder of the school year (51% of their remaining lunches at Cooper).

The chart below is the menu. All four options will be available each day. Students' lunch location will not change, only the kitchen will be closed for food prep.

7th Grade Parents

Field trip forms went home with your student for their trip to the National Mall. Please discuss this trip as a family and return the forms to school as soon as you can for a final count.

Late Buses / Afterschool Program

With just a few weeks left of the after school program for the school year, we want to remind parents of late bus day dismissal procedures.  If students are being picked up by a car, parents must arrive by 5:20 p.m. to pick up their child.  Students will confirm rides with parents after the first session ends at 3:30 to ensure a timely pick up.  If a ride is unable to report to Cooper by 5:20 p.m., the student will be placed on the late bus and communicate with their parent.

*Late buses end on May 26th

High School Credit Courses

High school credit-bearing courses will be reflected on the middle and high school transcripts. In  accordance with Virginia state regulations, FCPS Regulation 2408 permits parents of students who take a high school credit-bearing course in middle school to request that the grade be omitted from the student's high school transcript and the student not earn high school credit for  the course. Parents must make this request no later than the end of the first nine weeks of the school year following completion of the course. The request to expunge as well as guidelines and the procedures for expunging grades for high school courses taken in middle school can be found  at the following link: https://www.fcps.edu/sites/default/files/media/forms/is104.pdf Contact your student’s counselor with any questions.
