Did you know that registering early helps prevent overcrowded classrooms?
REGISTER new students NOW! *
Virginia law requires that all children who will reach their 5th birthday on or before September 30, 2022, must be enrolled in kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year, unless the parent or guardian notifies the school in writing that they do not wish the child to attend school until the following year.
If you have a child who will attend kindergarten at Orange Hunt Elementary next year, and you have not already registered them, contact Lesley Hite laakofiohite@fcps.edu
Please spread the word to your neighbors with children who do not yet attend Orange Hunt. Have neighbors with rising kindergarteners complete the online intake form or call the office at 703-913-6800.
* If your student currently attends Orange Hunt, you do not need to re-register for the next school year.
Spring SOLs are Almost Complete!
We just have 6th grade math left to test tomorrow, then make-ups for students who were absent for their initial tests. Please make sure your student is getting lots of rest the night before their test and a good breakfast in the morning.
Retakes will take place next week for those students who fell withing that 375-399 range. You were notified via email if your student is eligible for this option. Please contact your student’s teacher or the school’s SOL testing coordinator, Heather Mathews (hmmathews@fcps.edu) with any questions.
