News and Notes May 16, 2022:

Welcome Coach Jason Kirby as our new Varsity Girls Basketball Coach:

Hayfield Secondary School would like to introduce Coach Jason Kirby as our new Varsity Girls Basketball Coach.  Coach Kirby is no stranger to the Hayfield Hawk family as he has been on staff since 2017, most recently as Associate Head Coach of the Girls Varsity Basketball Team. Coach Kirby helped lead the program to multiple successful seasons, including two district championship appearances in 2018 and 2022.

Coach Kirby is a father of five, including daughter Victoria Kirby, an alumnus of the Lady Hawk Basketball program (class of 2018). A native of Washington, DC, Coach Kirby spent most of his childhood in Ft. Washington, MD. He began his sports journey at age 10, playing multiple sports for the Oxon Hill Boys & Girls Club. This led to a standout high school basketball career at Riverdale Baptist School, where he would meet and eventually marry his wife and fellow high school basketball standout, Pamela Payne-Kirby.

If you would like to contact Coach Kirby, please email him at jkirby@fcps.edu
