On Monday, May 16, 2022, all Twain students will be taking their Math SOL. Please help your student by making sure they bring their fully charged laptop to school on Monday.
PTA Updates
Summer Glow – 8th Grade Dance
The 8th Grade Dance is Friday, June 3 from 6 to 8 pm. Tickets will go on sale in the cafeteria for $1, starting May 19. We need the following support from parents.
- We need volunteers to sell tickets during lunch periods from 10:30 am to 12:45 pm May 19 to 20, May 24 to 27 and June 1 to 3. Please sign up here.
- We need monetary support to cover the events costs. We have raised $750 from local businesses and need to raise about $1,250 more to fully fund the event. Our kids missed a 6th grade graduation ceremony, spent their first year in middle school mostly virtual and will be going to their first “normal” middle school social event with this 8th grade dance. The planning committee made a deliberate decision to sell tickets for only $1 to ensure the event is inclusive for all 8th grade students.

Next PTA Meeting
Join us for our next PTA meeting on May 24, from 7 to 8 pm via Zoom. All 2021-22 PTA members (i.e., those who have paid dues) will automatically receive the Zoom link for all PTA meetings.
If you are not a current PTA member, email mtmspresident@gmail.com for the link by 6 pm May 24. Parents of rising 7th graders are welcome.

Nominate someone you think is deserving!
As a reminder, each month, the administration and the PTA jointly recognize an outstanding teacher or staff member at Twain. The honoree receives an awesome certificate, a $25 gift card and an amazing parking spot close to the building. It’s just a small way to say thank you to our fantastic teachers and staff members who go that extra mile.
2021-22 Yearbooks
Yearbooks should arrive at Twain MS sometime after May 21st. An announcement will be made when they arrive. Therefore, photos can no longer be submitted to be placed in the yearbook. Yearbooks still can be ordered by going to the following website: www.yearbookordercenter.com

Lost Laptops and Chargers
At the end of the school year all students will be responsible for returning their laptop and charger. When students lose an FCPS provided laptop or charger they are responsible for replacing them.
Replacement fee for lost computer equipment:
- Dell 3310 Laptop Computer ($481.00)
- Dell 3310 Charger ($23)
Replacement fees can be paid either through:
- MySchoolBucks - https://www.myschoolbucks.com/
- Check - Bring in a check to Twain’s Main Office made payable to “Twain Middle School”. Write the Student ID# on the Memo line.
Once a student pays the replacement fee, we will provide them a new charger or laptop. Please do not purchase a replacement charger through outside stores or vendors.
We will not be providing replacement cases when students lose their case. You can purchase affordable cases through different retail stores.
