Dear Cunningham Park Families and Friends,
A huge THANK YOU to our PTA for the wonderful daily showers of appreciation this week. Thank you so much for your ongoing acts of support. We truly feel supported.
The past two weeks have brought live performances back to Cunningham Park. We were so excited to see so many students and families come out for the live performances . All of the students who participated in the String and Band Concert performances and The Family Fine Arts Night event did outstanding jobs.
A special thanks to Ms. Meltzer and Mrs. Easton for putting on a wonderful band and strings spring concert. Additional recognition and appreciation to Mrs. Brinkhuis, Dr. Kancianic, Ms. Singletary, and Sra. Collazos for organizing Family Fine Arts Night. Our students showcased their talents and what they have learned in their specialist’s classes. It was so enjoyable seeing so many Cardinals families here!
We hope you have a great weekend. Happy Mother’s Day!

Positivity Project trait: Leadership
Dr. Keri Mina, CPES Technology Coach
Our Positivity Project trait for this week is leadership. People with this trait value each member of the group and inspire people to do their best. They also have the ability to understand others and inspire them toward a common goal. A group’s effectiveness and sense of inspiration is tied directly to the leader. Study after study shows that leaders have the biggest influence on group success and morale. Leaders can be developed and it starts with character.
Try this at Home: Research shows that teamwork can help develop leadership skills. Plan a family dinner, event or even participate in a volunteer day with your family. Make sure you involve every person in the family in the planning aspect and give each person a leadership role. Planning activities as a team with each individual having a specific leadership role can demonstrate and develop leadership skills, as well as provide an activity for your family to enjoy.
Quote of the Week: “When the world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful...Let us remember: one book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world.’”
