Principals' Message

Dear Bonnie Brae School Community,

A huge thank you to our PTO for helping us make Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week so special for everyone here at Bonnie Brae!

On Tuesday, May 17, Dr. Reid, the new FCPS superintendent, will join staff, families, and students for a multilingual virtual town hall, starting at 7 PM. FCPS will share details about this event  directly via email in the near future.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms!  We hope everyone has a great weekend with your family!

Positivity Project

Positivity Project

We have made it to our last official week for the Positivity Project. Our teachers and students have engaged with all 24 Character Strengths and have learned a lot throughout the way. Our community will continue to dig deeper into these character strengths as we close out the 2021-2022 school year. Thank you for supporting us with meaningful conversations at home.

Upcoming Weekly Focus: Outro Week- Other People Mindset

Character Strength Features: To celebrate our learning about these traits and mindsets this year, we will spend the week reflecting on what it means to show the Other People Mindset.

Quote of the Week: “Coming together is a beginning; Keeping together is progress; Working together is success.” -Edward Everett Hale

Bonnie Brae Class Placement

Thank you for your continued partnership with staff at Bonnie Brae Elementary! We know that a good teacher-student match and a productive mix of children are ingredients for success. We carefully consider each child’s strengths and needs during the class creation process. We encourage family input to share information school staff should be aware of to aid the process of creating classes for the 2022 - 2023 school year. Keep in mind family input is one of multiple pieces of information used to create classes and classes are not finalized until late August. So that your submission can be considered prior to conversations with current staff, please submit your input here no later than Friday, May 13, 2022. Thank you!

6th Grade Panoramic Photo

BBES Lunch and Recess Volunteer Opportunity

We are seeking parent volunteers to support during our lunch hours and recess hours. Lunch starts at 10:45am and ends at 1:30pm. Our grade levels have recess scattered throughout the day at various times from 9:30am - 2:45pm. Volunteers in both settings have the opportunity to connect and engage with students on a daily basis and support the safety and supervision of students at Bonnie Brae. Even 30 minutes of support one day a week can be a help to our students.

If you are interested in supporting any day(s) of the week on a consistent basis during any portion of our lunch block, please contact Kathy Rials, kerials@fcps.edu

Thank you for considering this opportunity to support our students and to continue encouraging safety protocols.
