Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is observed in the United States during the month of May, and recognizes the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.

Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in May in the United States since 1949. The month is observed with media, local events, and film screenings. Mental Health Awareness Month began in the United States in 1949 and was started by the Mental Health America organization.
SUMMER LEARNING. Many schools in FCPS will offer summer school opportunities this summer. The following are some offerings: ❏ School-based: Credit Recovery, ESOL Enrichment K-12, Extended School Year, and others. ❏ Enrichment & Other Opportunities: CTE Summer Academy, Institute for the Fine Arts, Tech Adventure Camp, Summer Credit Recovery, self-directed learning, and HS Online Campus. Keep an eye on the FCPS website’s Summer Learning page for updates!
REC-PAC Dates: June 28th to August 5th Early registration and Partial Scholarship will end on June 11th. If you know of a family looking for an affordable summer camp, please have them sign up for the Rec-PAC to take advantage of the $12 per week Partial Scholarship. Community Liaisons Community Liaisons welcome families to FCPS and provide information and resources about Fairfax County. They are available all year long, including summers. To learn more, click here.
Parent Information Phone Lines FCPS language lines are available in eight different languages to assist parents who do not speak English as their first language. To learn more, click here.
Fairfax County Government is offering Aqua Fitness classes for students with physical disabilities. Students with physical disabilities (cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, MS, etc.) work at their individual ability levels as they pursue their personal fitness goals. Shallow water exercises and swim programs improve body awareness and increase range of motion, flexibility and muscle tone. Wheelchair users welcome. Caretaker/family member participation may be required.
