Weyanoke Update for May 4, 2022

Photo of children and families participating in STEAM activities

Last week's Math, Reading, and Science Night was a huge success. Students and family members were here to participate in learning activities hosted by our classroom teachers. Families enjoyed free dinner, transportation, and even took home learning materials for free. In this photo, students in the gym participate in a paper pyramid building activity led by STEAM teacher Mrs. Otaizo.

Career Day was last week, and it was a huge success! Brought to Weyanoke through a collaboration between the PTA and the School Counselors, Ms. Skorski & Ms. Nagel.

Thank you to all of the wonderful volunteer speakers who made it great!  The students loved learning about a large variety of occupations, from restaurant owner to cyber security to fire fighter to writer.

Hearts went home last week with students, for them to be able to show their appreciation this week for Staff Appreciation Week at Weyanoke. If you haven’t turned yours in, please send it in tomorrow (LAST CHANCE) so we can add it to the wall.

Please make sure the note includes (a) your teacher’s name and (b) your student’s name

EVENT: We have a Native Plant Bed we are helping plant!  We will also have a guest speaker, Karen Taylor to speak and teach us and our children about the plants.
