Teacher Appreciation Week May 2-6
Come help us appreciate and celebrate our fabulous Stratford Landing teachers and staff throughout Teacher Appreciation Week May 2-6! The PTA has come up with a week full of treats for our SLES staff.
Monday: Relax and rejuvenate! 10-minute massage for teachers and staff.
Tuesday: Staff lunch on us!! Taco Bar catered by Moe’s.
Wednesday: Wake up well! Staff breakfast in the lounge from our local 7-11.
Thursday: Candy Bar break! Staff will be treated to an assortment of sweet treats in the teacher’s lounge.
Friday: Celebrate!! Fri-yay pizza party for the whole staff from Toppers.
Students and parents, here's how you can show your teachers and support staff the love all week long:
Think about what makes our teachers and assistants awesome. Take the time to write down your thoughts and share them with your educators. Don't forget our specials teachers!
Students can drop by the Appreciation Station at the entrance each morning and write notes to the wonderful staff who have impacted their school days.
We are also asking for contributions for the Staff Candy Bar. Please send donations to school no later than Wednesday, 5/4. Donations will be collected in a box in the front office.
Gear Up For Spring in Our Spiritwear Store!
More than 100 new items have been added to our spiritwear store, including items specifically for "Future Dolphins!" Don't see a size, color or style you want? Sixth Grade Promotion Ceremony Thurs, 6/9 @ 6pm @ Sandburg Auditorium
Mark your Calendars, sixth grade families! The 6th Grade Promotion Ceremony will occur on Thursday, June 9th, 2022 at 6 pm in the Carl Sandburg Middle School auditorium. A small reception will follow. More details will be forthcoming closer to that date.
Additionally, the 6th grade class picnic will be on Friday June 3rd. Students will be transported by bus to Fort Hunt Park for games, music, pizza and more!
Family Resource Center Needs
Our Family Resource Center is in need of the following donations for our pre-school and older students: - Pull-ups in sizes 2-3T, 3-5T, 6 L/XL - Preschool size clothes and shoes- new or gently used - Pants in youth sizes 10-16; YL, XL, XXL - new or gently used Please place items in the red bins outside of the front office. Thank you!

Senior Day at Stratford Landing Elementary – TBD
Calling all graduating seniors who attended Stratford Landing Elementary! We want to invite you back to SLES to celebrate! Seniors will get a chance to reminisce with friends and staff, have Q&A sessions with our current SLES students, and walk down the hallways one last time in cap and gown for the “Grad Walk.” More details to come!

Britepaths “Get That Job!” Free Online Career Series – May 10th, 17th, 24th from 6:30 pm – 8 pm These free, virtual workshops will cover reading job descriptions, identifying transferable skills, and preparing and dressing for interviews. Attend all three days and receive a $50 grocery gift card!
