JACKSON SUMMER BRIDGE ACADEMY (IMAGINE)

Dates: July 11-July 29, 2022

Times: 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Location: LJMS

Eligibility: Rising 8th, 9th graders

Cost: Tuition Free!

Join us this summer and fight off the summer academic “slide” with this engaging program that gives middle school students a chance to review the math and English skills they learned during the school year and also try a fun new Coding/Video Game- themed STEM class.  Students will work with current Jackson MS teachers on academics in the morning, and then choose from a huge selection of week-long elective options for the afternoon.  Transportation, breakfast, lunch, snacks and school supplies are all included!

How To Survive Middle School 2022

Session 1:  July 25 & 26

Session 2: July 27 & 28

Times: 3:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

Location: LJMS

Eligibility: rising 7th graders

Cost: $40

Are you a rising 7th grader who will attend Luther Jackson in the fall?  This is your chance to get this middle school thing figured out early!  Come and meet students from other elementary schools who will come together here at Jackson as 7th graders, learn your way around the building, get to know some fantastic Jackson teachers, and have a great time!  Registered students will be given access to a wealth of virtual information about LJMS as well as get a chance to explore the building when they come for one of the two different 2-day sessions.  Transportation to LJMS, dinner, and a new Luther Jackson t-shirt are included in the tuition.

JAGUAR JUMPSTART

Dates:     TBD                      

Times: 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Location: Falls Church High School

Eligibility: rising 9th graders

Cost: $10

Are you going to Falls Church High School next year?! This is your opportunity to get a jumpstart on what it means to go to high school. Come and get to know the school, teachers and hang out with other students who will also be joining the jaguar community this August. There is lots of fun to be had and great opportunities to get ahead of the game and feel prepared for your first few days of high school.

*Registration will open as soon as FCHS selects a date/location/time... we're working around their building renovation that starts this summer.

VIP Camp Thoreau

(Holmes, Glasgow, Kilmer, Jackson, Thoreau, & Poe Students)

Dates: June 27-July 28, 2022 (campers are encouraged to attend all 5 weeks)

Times: 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Location: Thoreau MS

Eligibility: rising 7th & 8th graders

Cost: $50

FCPS and Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services (DNCS) have teamed up to offer a five week camp for rising 7th and 8th graders.  Our camp will be a combination of students from the following middle schools: Kilmer, Glasgow, Holmes, Jackson, Poe, and Thoreau.  Bus transportation will be provided from various pick-up locations which will be communicated in June prior to the start of camp. 

There is a $50 registration fee., and a mandatory parent meeting before camp starts.

The staff is led by your local After-School Specialists and trained DNCS staff.   Campers will have a great time playing sports, games, doing arts and crafts and exploring concepts in science and technology.

The LAST DAY for late buses is May 26th.

After-School ends on Thursday, May 26th.  We will hold our faculty vs. students basketball game that day.  Tickets for the game will be sold during lunches the week before the event.  More details coming soon...
