1. Principal's Message

In honor of Administrative Professionals Week, we wanted to say a hearty “THANK YOU” to our office staff, who are the first friendly faces of our school and provide a multitude of services and supports to our school community. We also want to say THANKS to our Health Room Aide, Mrs. Cappellari, for all of her support and caring for our students. These ladies are the glue that keeps us together.  They.  Are.  Awesome!!!! 


2. Student Intention Form - Grades K to 5

Student’s Intention for Next School Year Form:  Many families have not yet responded. Whether or not your child will be returning to GBW for 2022-23, we need to know.  This will greatly help us in projecting our total enrollment for next school year.  Please return the form as soon as possible.

You may drop off, fax, email or mail the intention form to the Greenbriar West Main Office.  Office Hours:  8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., M-F

The form is preferable; however, if you are unable to provide the form please email Mrs. Li (using the email above) and indicate one of the following:

  • NO, my student (name) will not be returning 
  • Please indicate “Student Intent for 2022-23” in the subject line.

Food Drive

Please Donate!

We are very proud of our student participation in the Leadership Team Food Drive, which is taking place from April 11 to May 13.  All donations will be delivered to the Western Fairfax Christian Ministries, a local outreach center that manages a food pantry for the local Fairfax community.  Donations must be non-perishable food and no glass.  Our goal is to reach 1000 items!

Food Drive Schedule:

(April 25th-29th) Week 3:  Fruits and Vegetables

(May 2nd – 6th)  Week 4:   Healthy Snacks and Drinks

(May 8th-13th)    Week 5:  Baby Items


4. Move for Mental Health Community Event this Sunday, May 1st

To kick off Mental Health Awareness Month, Our Minds Matter (OMM) and Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) have partnered to host the first annual Move for Mental Health community event on Sunday May 1st, 2022 starting at 10:30am.

This event is open to the public and will feature a dedicated route to walk, run, bike or wheel - as well as other movement & self-care stations. Learn more and register here:

This community event is to raise awareness and funds for the mental health of Fairfax County teens.

PRC Packs are pre-packaged tote bags with books for adults and children on important topics like Supporting Children and Teens with Attention Deficit Disorder, Anxiety, and Motivation.  You will also find a library of parenting resources and YouTube webinars here .
