Today was Superhero-Princess-Fairy-Prince Day! It was so much fun to see students and staff in their favorite outfits. Next Friday is Decades Day. Dress up from a specific decade such as the 70s, 80s, 90s, etc.

Earth Day Garden Fun
Our gardens are in need of love & care. Everyone is invited to come out to plant, dig and have fun. We'll have food for sale prepared by our families, activities for kids and tools. The weather will be gorgeous. We can't wait to see you.

Kindergarten Orientation Next Week: Virtual & In-Person
We will hold a virtual session on Zoom on Thursday, April 28 at 6:30pm. Zoom link will be email to those families who have indicated their child is planning to attend. Our in-person orientation is for both parent and child on Friday, April 29 at 9:00am. It's fine to go to both sessions. If you have questions, please contact Ms. Collins, our registrar.

Class Placements for Next Year
In June, we will begin creating classes of students for the 2022-23 school year. Teachers and administrators work together to build groups of students that are balanced in a variety of ways including gender, learning needs and size. Parents have important information about their child that may help us with this process. If there is information you would like to share about your child and how they learn best, please contact Ms. Consolla before the end of May. You can email in any language to her at jtconsolla@fcps.edu. If you are requesting that your child be placed in the same class as another student, we ask that you share the names of at least 2 students with whom you be comfortable as your child's classmate. Note that we cannot take a specific request for a teacher. Instead share about the traits and/or teaching style that you believe would help your child be most successful.
SOL Testing Next Week: Grades 5 & 6
SOL Testing Is Our students in Grades 3-6 will take the SOL tests beginning the week of April 25. Please check the schedule below to see when your child is scheduled to test. You'll see that the tests take place over two days for Grades 3-5. Students should be done by lunch time. Thank you in advance for scheduling any appointments outside of these dates.

Spirit Fridays Have Returned!
Beginning next week, we will have a weekly Spirit Friday to promote fun and school spirit. Here is the schedule through April:

Yearbook Orders are Still Available
If you would like to have a yearbook, there are still some available. The cost is $16. Yearbooks will be distributed in June. Please contact the Office for more information.

Be Here, Be On Time! 8:30am
Unless your child is ill, we need them at school everyday. When they are absent, they miss out on valuable learning. Plan to arrive at campus by 8:30am if you are walking or driving. Breakfast is available to students who are on time. Thank you!
