Forestville Elementary Choir Preforms the National Anthem

Choir Students

On 4/28 a group of choir students from Forestville Elementary School preformed the national anthem at the school board meeting! These students did a fantastic job and it was a wonderful performance. A big thanks to Ms. Patterson (Forestville's choir director) and our families for supporting these students! If interested you can watch the recording here.

Meet our New Superintendent

Our incoming superintendent, Dr. Michelle Reid, is visiting FCPS next week to learn more about our schools and community. During her visit, there will be a special, in-person event for all FCPS staff, families, and students on Tuesday, May 3, starting at 7 p.m. More details, including how to register and submit questions, will be shared with you directly, by FCPS, via email in the coming days. This event is for the entire FCPS community

On Tuesday, May 17, Dr. Reid will join staff, families, and students for a multilingual virtual town hall, starting at 7 p.m. FCPS will share details about this event in newsletters and directly via email.

Class Placement Parent Input (all grades)

If your child is returning to Forestville next school year, we offer you the opportunity to share any comments you would like regarding class placements. If you know that your family will not be joining us for the 2022-23 school year, please reach out to Ms. Tran at httran2@fcps.edu or 703-404-6000 to let us know.

Our staff will be working on tentative class groupings this spring, with classroom assignments finalized in mid-August.  As we make these placements, we consider many factors including individual student information, teacher input, and social relationships. Every class will have a blend of children with diverse needs, personalities, and learning interests. Due to the many factors we must consider in creating classroom placements, including the staffing of our teachers, requests for a specific teacher cannot be honored.

If you have information that you believe is pertinent to your child’s placement for next year, please complete this optional form by Friday, May 13th for it to be taken into consideration. There is no need to complete the form if you do not have any information you would like us to consider. Due to the tight timeline before school is out, late submissions cannot be considered. Thank you!
