CES Family Liaison Newsletter for April 26, 2022

Introducing CES's Family Liaison Newsletter

Dear CES families:

Happy Tuesday! We are excited to release the first CES's Family Liaison Newsletter of the school year! The purpose of this newsletter is to inform you about community resources, volunteer opportunities, family engagement, students learning tips, and share other valuable information! We also want to use this tool to interact with you and know more about your family needs, interests and preferences!

The weekly newsletter will be released every Tuesday and edited by your Family Liaison Maria Nogales.

Parent Liaison

What is a Family Liaison?

She is the person working at the school that:

  • Serves as the link between home and school.
  • Help parents get the information and assistance they need to support their children at home and to ensure their children's success in school.
  • Encourages family engagement in children’s education and connects families to what their children are learning.
  • Builds relationships with and among families, staff members, and community members. Connects families to resources in the community.
  • Welcomes and orients families who are new to the school and community, and help them understand the school's culture, policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Works with families for whom English is a second language to maximize their involvement in school activities and minimize any linguistic barriers.
  • Promotes understanding of families’ cultural diversity.
  • Ensures families feel welcomed, trusted, and valued by the school.

What to expect from the CES Family Liaison Newsletter

  • Family-School Engagement: Receive information on Parent meetings, CES events, volunteer/engagement opportunities at CES and other information on how to get involved at CES.
  • Student Learning Tips: Read about tips and activities to motivate your child’s learning progress and be an active participant in their educational journey!
