HELPING HANDS IS BACK!

Interested in helping at Coates ES? Please join our parent volunteer group.

Any amount of time that you can spare will be greatly appreciated.

Optional Parent Input Form

With the school year coming to a close, the staff will begin a recommendation process for class placements for the 2022-23 school year.  We want kids to have a diverse and positive peer group, and we consider many factors.  We value and welcome your insights regarding your child's learning needs, as well as peer considerations.  Please complete the parent input form here so that we have your insights.

Dismissal Reminders

There are only three ways for students to be dismissed at the end of the day.  If you would like to make changes to dismissal, you must call the front office before 3pm each day to communicate the change, so that they can alert your child and their teacher.  We cannot allow parents to pick their children up by the main entrance on their way to the bus.

o    Bus

o    Kiss and Ride

  • Please do not pass cars in the Kiss and Ride lane

o    Walker Door

  • Only students living within a 1-mile radius of the school with a safe walking route are eligible to walk home from school
  • If you would like to confirm that your child is eligible, please just call the main office to inquire

§  All Kindergarten students must be met at the Walker Door to be released

Recognize Our Staff Who Go Above and Beyond

fcps cares

The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees, specifically at Coates.
