PTSA Updates

The PTSA Board would like to extend our wishes to our amazing Wolverine Families, Teachers, and Staff for a safe and enjoyable Spring Break.

We are so excited to announce that Bucknell Elementary School has established a PTA after a 7-year absence! Our sweet Bucknell is the smallest school in Fairfax County, with 294 students, and is located blocks away from West Potomac!  There was a meet and greet with all the PTA Presidents in the West Potomac Pyramid this week--a long-overdue event! --ideas and cooperation abounded!

We have 8 elementary schools in our pyramid.  Please keep them in mind when you need community service hours, Eagle Scout Projects, or are able to tutor, volunteer, garden, or visit!

Contact Tanya Stamos, WP PTSA President, for more information.  TanyaStamos@gmail.com  THANK YOU!!

      • Obtain a Healthcare Power of Attorney for your student (you won’t be able to help or get health info regarding your young adult student once they turn 18 without one or give directives should they be incapacitated)
      • Provide your student with a copy of his/her health insurance card and be sure to check how your health and dental insurance work especially if your student may be attending an out of state school.
      • Military Families that may be using GI Bill – check out the VA Benefits website, https://www.va.gov/education/how-to-apply/
      • Make sure you have your student’s College/Univ. ID number. FYI - Once your student turns 18 - you will not have access to your student’s grades or college tuition financials, there are forms your student can sign to allow access.
      • Look into insurance for belongings (homeowner’s policy may cover theft or damage, but a separate policy might be cheaper)
      • Debit Card or Credit Card

        • AAA membership, if your student will be driving
        • Amazon Prime student membership
