Dear Stenwood Families,
We cannot believe it! Yesterday wrapped up the 3rd quarter. When we return from Spring Break we will have just one quarter left! The 4th quarter is always filled with lots of celebrations and activities. We hope you all enjoy this week off with your children. Our school staff will be taking a much needed break this week as well, so please be aware that they will not be available until April 11th. We hope to see everyone rested, relaxed, and recharged for the 4th quarter of school!

Lost and Found
As the weather gets warmer in the afternoons, our Lost and Found is growing. Our amazing Photo Bees, with the help of Mrs. Krum, have digitally photographed the collection. Here is a Lost and Found Video Slideshow of the items through last week. If you see any items that belong to your family, please reach out to our Family Liaison, Maria Agha magha@fcps.edu with the item number(s) of the items you are missing and she will help return them to your family. We will create a new video in May with items between now and then.
SOL Dates for 3rd-6th Graders
Students in our school will be taking the SOL tests between May 3rd and May 27th. Here is the specific schedule for your child’s SOL tests:
Please notify Meredith Mitchell (mamitchell@fcps.edu) if you become aware of an unavoidable conflict that could result in missing a SOL test day or if you have questions about state assessments.
Positivity Project:
Identifying and Appreciating the Good in Others
 |
|
This week, we are working on ONE of the FIVE overarching pillars of the Positivity Project. Identifying and appreciating the good in others can sometimes be difficult to do if we are too focused on ourselves. |
"It’s not the failure of others to appreciate your abilities that should trouble you, but rather your failure to appreciate theirs.”
~Confucius
Questions you might enjoy talking about:
- What is expressing appreciation?
- Why does it take COURAGE to express appreciation?
- What are some ways you can show appreciation of others?
- How does it make you feel when someone expresses appreciation?
