Happy Spring Break

Our school and office is closed next week and will reopen April 11 at 7:30 a.m. While you are on break, you may want to try these spring activities:

  • Read a book or two
  • Go on a bike ride or jump rope
  • Enjoy a Nature Walk
  • Plant some seeds. Start an easy-to-grow plant, such as a bean, in a pot or in the ground.
  • Investigate the wind. Rub petroleum jelly on a plastic lid. Hang it from a tree branch by a string. In 30 minutes, check and see what the wind blew in.
  • Listen for animals such as birds and frogs as they return to your area.
  • Play Board Games
  • Enjoy conversations

Have a wonderful and safe Spring Break! We look forward to seeing you on April 11th.

Save the Dates: SOL Testing for Grades 3-6

Students in grades 3-6 will be taking the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) assessment this Spring. Federal law requires schools to give assessments in reading and mathematics, grades 3-6, and science in grade 5. SOL tests measure the extent to which students have learned the content and skills detailed in the state standards. These tests provide information about student achievement to parents, LTES, FCPS, and the state of Virginia.

At London Towne, we will test all grade levels on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning on May 5th. Stay tuned for the specific testing dates and more information coming soon. Call Ms. Moore or Ms. Vigil, our assistant principals, if you have questions. Thank you!
