Major Pride during Spirit Week
Dear Major Families,
Happy Spring Break! I hope you and your families find time to reconnect, enjoy the somewhat-spring like weather, and recharge. It is hard to believe that we are coming to the close of another quarter, but here we are. As we wind the school year down, we are preparing many end of the year celebrations such as graduation, awards ceremonies, and lots of fun! We are also working hard with students to stay the course to prevent “senioritis” and overall apathy. This is an important time for students and we encourage you to engage in conversations with your children about goals they have to finish strong and specific actions they need to take to accomplish those goals.
Remember, life is about balance so this is a great time to get the rest and peace we all need.

Prior to Spring Break we said our farewells to Mr. Derek Steele, Ms. Janice Ashley, and Mrs. Mary Beth Jordan who are now happily retired. We would like to thank them for their service, commitment, support and love for MVHS! They will truly be missed, and we wish you the absolute best in your retirement.

US Senator Mark Warner - Academy Day 2022 April 23rd 10am-12:30pm
This session will be held virtually on April 23rd. Families interested in attending please email: academy_noms@warner.senate.gov to be added to the invitation distribution list. This is an excellent session to hear from representatives from the Virginia congressional delegation about the application procedures for congressional nomination to the academies as well as speakers.

NOVA JumpStart2NOVA Application Closes at 5pm on April 29th NOVA is pleased to announce JumpStart2NOVA for summer 2022.
- Who/What: Qualified seniors graduating this spring may take one 3-credit course and NOVA’s 1-credit College Success Skills course, SDV 100, at no tuition?
- When/How: All classes will be offered through NOVA Online and run May 31st through August 8th, 2022. Students are required to pay for textbooks or other course materials.
