Annandale Seniors and Families:

We are less than two months away from graduation and we wanted to provide you with important information and dates that will assist you in preparing and planning for the end of the school year. In addition, we also need parent assistance to ensure the success of our senior end of the year events. See below for detailed information on how to get involved.

Important Dates

April 15 - All Night Grad Party Online Auction Begins: The All Night Grad Party Online Auction is back and now posted up in “preview mode”. You can check out the amazing donations now through April 14. Bidding will go live April 15 and continue through April 29. Pick up will be at Annandale High School on Saturday, April 30 from 4:00-6:00pm. We are still actively soliciting donations, so check back frequently to see what’s new. If you have a small business or goods/services/gift cards that you would like to donate, please contact Alyssa Getsey at getsey@verizon.net.

 

April 18 - Senior Breakfast: We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Senior Breakfast on Monday, April 18 during W4/PRIDE Time. During the breakfast, students will receive important information about end-of-the-year events, including senior exams, senior activities, graduation, and All Night Grad Party.

Parents, we need your assistance making this event a success. Please click on the Sign-Up Genius for opportunities to donate food and/or money to purchase breakfast items, as well as volunteer on event day!

Special thanks to the new Annandale Chick-fil-A for donating chicken breakfast biscuits for all of our students! The grand opening for this location is on April 7 and at 7130 Little River Turnpike. They have already hired 150 employees, including many Annandale High students! May 2 & 3 - Senior Survey: Each year, every senior is required to complete the Senior Survey. This is how Student Services celebrates the decisions of our graduates and ensures we have information on where to send final transcripts.

Counselors will be coming to every senior English class on May 2 & 3 to help students complete the Senior Survey. Please do not complete the Senior Survey before these dates. If you are absent on the day of your English class, you will receive an email notification about make-up days and times for filling out the survey. Note: It is required that all seniors complete the survey by May 20. Seniors who have not completed the survey will be unable to pick up their cap and gown for graduation. May 6 - Senior Decision Day: May 1 is National Decision Day! At Annandale, we are excited to start a new tradition here by celebrating our Seniors whether they have decided to attend a 4-year college, community college, join the military, workforce, or take a gap year. The celebration will be held on Friday, May 6 during each student’s scheduled lunch time in the Senior Courtyard and Clausen Hall. 

 

May 18 - Senior Laptop Collection Begins: Senior laptop collection will begin on Wednesday, May 18 and conclude on Tuesday, May 24 after the last senior exam and before senior picnic. Stay tuned for more information.

 

May 20 - Senior Prom: Prom will be on May 20 from 8:00-11:00pm at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria. Tickets will go on sale beginning Monday, April 11 via MySchoolBucks.com for $25 per ticket. Each student may buy up to 2 tickets. The price for Prom tickets will increase soon, so get them as soon as you can! No tickets will be sold at the door.

If you would like to bring a guest who doesn’t attend Annandale High School, you must fill out a form from the Athletics Office and return it to John Ellenberger for approval. Students should not purchase tickets until your form is approved. No middle school students or guests 21 or older will be permitted.

IMPORTANT: Students must pay their senior obligations before purchasing a prom ticket. Students will not be allowed to enter prom if they have outstanding obligations. 

 

May 24 - Senior Picnic: Annandale High School will be hosting our first annual Senior Picnic after W2 finals on May 24. Stay tuned for more information.

 

May 24 - Senior Reflections Ceremony: The PTSA will be hosting Senior Reflections in the auditorium on May 24 at 7:00pm. Students can sing a song, perform a dance, play a musical instrument, read a poem or an inspirational reading, or share their personal story. Stay tuned for more information on how to sign up!

 

May 25 - Senior Sunset: Senior Sunset will take place on May 25 at 8:00pm. Students are encouraged to come watch the sunset on the football field with music, drinks, and food! 

 

May 26 - Future College Athlete Ceremony: The Activities Office will be hosting a ceremony for our future college athletes on May 26 at 8:30am in Clausen Hall to honor our student athletes who will be continuing their athletic career in college. Parents, teachers, and coaches will also be invited to honor and recognize the hard work and dedication of our athletes. May 26 - Senior Awards Ceremony: Our annual Senior Awards Ceremony will be held on May 26 from 10:00-11:00am at Annandale High School. This ceremony provides us an opportunity to recognize seniors who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in each content area, as well as celebrate those seniors who have been selected for community based awards and scholarships. We will provide more details as we get closer to the ceremony and will be communicating directly with the students and families of our award recipients. May 27 - Senior Obligations: Seniors must pay all outstanding obligations, including Senior Dues, prior to receiving their cap and gown. Financial obligations can be paid online via myschoolbucks.com, by using the myschoolbucks mobile app, or in person on May 27. Here are instructions on how to access MySchoolBucks.com. All senior obligations must be paid before graduation rehearsal. If you have any questions, please email Jeremy DeBoe, Finance Technician, at jddeboe@fcps.edu

 

May 27 - Cap and Gown Distribution: Students will have the opportunity to pick up their cap and gown and senior gift on Friday, May 27. In order to receive a cap and gown, students must have returned all items and paid all obligations. Stay tuned for more information. 

 

May 27 - Graduation Rehearsal: Graduation rehearsal will be held on May 27 on the Annandale High School stadium field. Seniors who choose to participate in the Graduation Ceremony must attend graduation rehearsal. Stay tuned for more information. 

 

May 30-31 - Cap and Gown Photo Op: Seniors will have the opportunity to take pictures with their families in front of the school in their cap and gown prior to graduation! Stay tuned for more information. 

 

June 1 - Graduation Ceremony: We are excited that this year’s graduation ceremony will once again be held on Tuesday, June 1 at 9:00am at Annandale High School on our stadium field! Rain date is June 2. All students will receive 6 tickets to graduation. Students should arrive by 7:30am. All ticketed guests must arrive by 8:20am and be in their seats by 8:55am. The ceremony will begin at 9:00am. Stay tuned for more information.

 

June 2 - All Night Grad Party: Annandale High School’s All Night Grad Celebration is June 2 from 11:00pm-5:00am at Audrey Moore Rec Center!  Tickets are on sale now through May 30. Senior Dues - $50: Senior dues, which cover cap and gown, diploma covers, and the senior gift, are $50. Please log on to myschoolbucks.com to pay your senior dues by May 20. When you pay via myschoolbucks.com, be sure to enter your height in the appropriate field for gown measurements for graduation. Here are instructions for students on how to access MySchoolBucks.com. Yearbook - $85: Buy your 2021-2022 yearbook, Side by Side, before they sell out! Yearbooks can be purchased at www.yearbookforever.com for $85. Purchase a ‘Congratulations! Graduate’ Yard Sign: The Annandale PTSA will be selling ‘Congratulations! Graduate' yard signs once again this year! Yard signs are $15 for pickup or $20 delivered to your yard. All proceeds help to fund the four (4) Annandale High School PTSA Scholarships. Stay tuned for more information on how to order online!
