Coates Family Newsletter for 3/31/22

Dear Coates Families,

This newsletter brings us to the end of the third quarter for our students and into spring break. I know that this time is a welcome to recharge before we go into the last 2 months of the school year. There will not be a newsletter next week while we are enjoying spring break.

The Coates office will be closed during spring break. Should you have a school-related emergency, please contact the School Security Office at 571-423-2000.

Warm regards,

Mrs. Jessica King, Acting Principal

Mrs. Jenn Gray & Mrs. Laura Dinkov, Assistant Principals

April is Month of the Military Child

April is the Month of the Military Child, providing an opportunity to recognize and honor the service of Virginia’s youngest heroes, over 80,000 military connected children.  Coates will celebrate Purple Up Day on Wednesday, April 20th.  We will also hold a spirit week during the week to recognize our military connected students.

  • Monday, 4/18 – Pajama Day (We sleep soundly because of those who protect our nation.)

  • Tuesday 4/19 – Crazy Camo Day

  • Wednesday 4/20 – Purple Up Day! Wear purple!

  • Thursday 4/21 – Career day (There are so many careers to explore in the military!)

  • Friday – 4/22 – RED Friday (Remember Everyone Deployed)

If you are a military family and would like to have your child be recognized and celebrated, please contact Laura Dinkov at lkdinkov@fcps.edu by April 15th.  We would like to recognize our military children at Coates on the morning news show on Wednesday, April 20th.
