positivity project

Next week, students will talk about humor. Humor is a sense of playfulness and lightness. It is a way
of looking at and describing the world that brings laughter to people. A person with the strength of humor is skilled at seeing at the funny side of things, bringing smiles and
laughter to others, and identifying and communicating the absurdities in life.

Counselor's Corner

This month, Mrs. Schnaue and Mrs. Theberge’s classroom lessons focused on Resiliency. Students talked about bouncing back versus splatting, how everyone splats for a little bit and that’s ok, and what strategies to use to help them bounce back from situations that may be difficult. All students learned about their circle of support (who they can lean on when needed), how finding the positives can be helpful, using humor to alleviate stress and even focusing on a future goal can help students become more resilient.  Upper grade students should have brought home examples of different strategies they learned to help them develop their resiliency skills. Not only did Primary Grade students learn about resiliency, they continued to enhance their knowledge about emotional regulation. Ask your child what strategies they can use when experiencing an overwhelming feeling!
