Dear Mantua Families,
To encourage and celebrate reading, as well as to raise funds for our school, the Mantua Elementary School PTA is sponsoring its FIRST EVER Read-A-Thon from April 18-29. Additional information and links will be sent out prior to the start of the Read-A-Thon directly from the PTA.
The Mantua PTA is planning to use 99Pledges.com as the fundraising platform this year for this fundraiser to make it easy to collect and track pledges and track minutes read entirely online. The platform works best when we use email addresses for the student population (parent or guardian emails, not FCPS student-issued emails) that can be pre-loaded into the system; this allows us to set up an individual donation page for each student that can be shared with family and friends via e-mail or social media.
As promised (and verified by other schools that use this platform including Frost Middle School), 99Pledges will not share email addresses with any third party or use them to market their products to the population. The emails are strictly used to set up the donation page and send periodic reminders regarding the Mantua fundraiser. In addition, the created donation pages are not indexed by search engines and can only be seen if the link is shared by the individual.
If you do not want your student to participate in the Read-A-Thon fundraiser, please send an e-mail to Ms. Finaish at ffinaish@fcps.edu by next Friday, March 25.
Important note!
Families who have already submitted the FCPS Directory Opt-Out form at the beginning of the school year will automatically not be submitted to 99Pledges.
Families who would like to participate in the Read-A-Thon but would not like to go through 99Pledges, please contact Gretchen West at fundraising@mantuapta.org.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions,
Thank you,
Mantua Admin Team
