 Thank you to our PTA for hosting our annual Staff Basketball Game! It was so much fun to see the community come together for a night of music, basketball, snacks, and laughs. This weekend, Mrs. Paull attended our All County Music Festival with several of our sixth grade choral students. We are enjoying returning to many of our school traditions this spring!
We are excited to share a new resource that will soon be available to all Lemon Road students to support learning. All FCPS students will have unlimited access to online tutoring support services through Tutor.com at no cost. With this service, students can connect online any time, and in most subjects for as long as they need. Tutoring is focused instruction provided to students in a one-on-one format through voice or text chat. Tutors will focus on developing students’ strengths and capabilities in reading, mathematics, or other specified subjects. Tutoring services may be accessed before, during, or after school hours and/or on weekends through a link in Schoology. For more information, see the FCPS website.

 This Saturday, March 26, help the Lemon Road community plant in our rain garden and help remove invasive plants between 9:30-11:30 AM. Meet at the top of LRES hill behind the school. This will support our pollinators and wildlife with native plants, reduce erosion, and block invasive plants from moving in.  Join us on Friday through Zoom for a Virtual Principals’ Coffee. First, Ms. Argodale will lead parents in a digital citizenship overview about keeping your children safe online. Following her slides, we will discuss SOL testing, school & PTA spring events, and share how class lists are created each spring/summer. We hope parents will be able to start their day with us!

 Lemon Road celebrates all birthdays on the last Friday of each month called Freaky Friday. On this day, we ask Room Parents to organize birthday treats for their class and the SCA determines a spirit day. This month’s theme is Skittles Day - each grade level is assigned a color to wear.

 Save the date! Our Kindergarten Orientation is scheduled for Thursday, March 31st from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. and will begin in our cafeteria. After a brief welcome, families will be divided into groups for an interactive tour of the building and learning opportunities. The program will finish at 3:30 at the playground should parents and children wish to stay!
