Weekly News from your PTA - March 21, 2022

We still need volunteers for several things that are coming up:

Yearbook: We still need a couple of people to help with the layout and design, all through a digital platform.

Teacher Appreciation Week: We need a group of people to decide on a theme, help with activities and put up decorations.

K-3 Pajama Party: We need two people to help coordinate this event.

Please email Alison at president.fespta@gmail.com if you are interested in helping out with any of these things!

Help Your Child Overcome Procrastination with Ann Dolin, a former teacher at Forestville!

Thursday, March 24th

6:30-7:30pm ET

This is an online event.

Join us for an informative evening talk with Ann Dolin, M.Ed., Founder and President, Educational Connections.

When kids procrastinate on schoolwork, it leads to less sleep and more stress for the entire family. This unhealthy habit doesn’t do their grades any favors either! Fortunately, procrastination is a habit your child can unlearn, and Ann will teach you some strategies to start implementing at home.

The Zoom link will be sent to all registrants before the event.

For more information or questions regarding this event, please contact Robin Tiberio (CLAS '14) at uvaschools@dchoos.org.

Langley yard sale graphic

The ANGP-sponsored Community Outdoor Yard Sale & Craft Fair Fundraiser at Langley High School is on Sun, Mar 27, from 8 am – 2 pm!

This community event is free and open to the public. Local businesses, community artists, and those with no-longer-needed clothes, household goods, and gently used sports equipment will be on hand to sell their items. In addition, a bake sale, 50/50 raffle, performances by Langley students, and food trucks (Captain Pell's Seafood and Babu Ji Mediterranean & Halal) will round out the event.

Many volunteers are needed on the day of the event and to contribute to the Bake Sale. Community service hours will be offered. Sign up below:

Vendor spaces are still available. Rent a selling space (2 parking spaces) for $30. Larger spaces are available. Vendors must provide their own tables, display racks, and tents/covering.

Langley clubs, organizations, and teams are encouraged to use this event to fundraise for themselves. Vendor fees and individual donations go towards helping the Langley Class of 2022 ANGP, while participating vendors keep all profits they earn.  Register online here.

Questions? See the flyer here, the Class of 2022 ANGP website, or email Annette Bellino at annette.bellino@verizon.net.
