CES Weekly News 3.18

Principal's Message

As the year moves along, it only seems to move faster. We are quickly nearing the end of the 3rd quarter and Spring Break is right around the corner. Recently we had a PTA meeting where I was able to share the excitement of plans ahead for many PTA sponsored in person events, field trips, instructional learning celebrations and end of the year festivities. So many things are in the works. Look below for calendar items to add to your family to-do's. There are many great events including International Night and Fun Fair.  It's so exciting to see the list of our calendar events returning!

I am delighted to be working with a special girl scout troop that has donated and will be planting 3 new red bud trees in the front of our school building on Saturday morning, March 26th. After losing a couple trees in this area over the past few years, it will be a beautiful site to restore trees to this year.  I'm thankful for their gift to the school and to be able to watch them flourish over the years ahead, just as our students do.

Our book fair has kicked off and we welcome you in Saturday morning to browse and pick out some new titles for your children. Mrs. Reid and our PTA have put together a wonderful fair for all to find something to enjoy. Remember that 25% of all proceeds go directly back to our library to directly support our students.

As the weather warms, we are noticing more families walking to school. We are watching the care you all are taking and our routines have only made the school a safer place to arrive and leave.  Please continue to be diligent and watch for those walking and biking and remember to pull as far forward as you can in the K&R line. I want to give a huge shout out to our amazing patrols on the bus, at kiss n ride and in the halls for the great support they give our students day in and out. I'm so impressed by their leadership and the positive support they are providing.

Our Yearbook design team is hard at work. Have you ordered your yearbook to capture this special year for our Chesterbrook Chipmunks? The link can be found below in our calendar section.

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope to see many of you at the Book Fair Saturday morning!

Sincerely,

Stacy Kirkpatrick, Principal
